Quinta da Viçosa 2015

Dense, full and spicy, this dark coloured wine shows vivid, intense, structured red and black fruits with a chocolatey, spicy edge. Well integrated acidity in the body of the wine, that together with retronasal aroma reveal a long and persistent finish.

Region: Alentejo
Alcohol: 14,5% vol.
Total acidity: 5,80 g/l
Residual sugar: < 4 g/l
Denomination: Vinho Regional Alentejano
Soil Type: Limestone
Harvest: By hand to small cases of 15 kg
Vinification: Grapes are de-stemmed and fermentation takes place in traditional shallow, open marble troughs known as lagares, where the grapes are foot trodden. Malolactic fermentation then takes place in second year barrels.
Ageing: 12 months in new and 2nd year French oak half barrels
